{"id":12681,"date":"2022-10-17T16:16:12","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T11:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rukhshana.com\/?p=12681"},"modified":"2022-10-17T16:16:14","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T11:46:14","slug":"ghazni-women-with-disabilities-hold-exhibition-for-their-handicrafts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rukhshana.com\/en\/ghazni-women-with-disabilities-hold-exhibition-for-their-handicrafts\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghazni women with disabilities hold exhibition for their handicrafts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By: Rukhshana Media<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dozens of women with disabilities in Ghazni province held an exhibition of their handicrafts on Saturday October 15 with the aim of finding markets for their products and also encourage other women with disabilities towards economic empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The products include traditional clothes, bedsheets, and embroidered clothes they had made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nasima Walizada, one of the organizers of the exhibition, said the purpose of holding the exhibition is to support women with disabilities becoming more self-supporting, noting that if their products sell, they can earn an income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nahida Otofi, head of the Association of Women with Disabilities in Ghazni, said that disability is not simply a limitation and that women with disabilities have many talents. She added that the government should provide an opportunity to hold such exhibitions so that they can display their talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A similar exhibition was held in nearby Badakhshan province where women displayed handicrafts and hand-woven products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wahida, one of the organizers of the Badakhshan exhibition, said that women can play an essential role in the development of the country and should be permitted to sell their handicrafts in the markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woman participating in the exhibition said that the biggest problem they face for their work is the lack of a suitable market to sell their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan on August 15 last year, a large number of women have been deprived of work and education.
