{"id":29047,"date":"2024-10-24T09:52:11","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T05:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rukhshana.com\/?p=29047"},"modified":"2024-10-24T09:52:40","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T05:22:40","slug":"media-watchdog-reports-shut-down-of-tv-stations-in-badghis-following-taliban-ban-on-live-images","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rukhshana.com\/en\/media-watchdog-reports-shut-down-of-tv-stations-in-badghis-following-taliban-ban-on-live-images\/","title":{"rendered":"Media watchdog reports shut down of TV stations in Badghis following Taliban ban on live images"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Television stations in Badghis province have stopped operating after the local Taliban administration issued a directive banning the broadcast of live images, the media watchdog the Afghanistan Journalists Center (AfJC) said in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The restriction has forced media activities in the province to only have&nbsp;written and audio content, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The directive was officially communicated to media outlets and journalists via WhatsApp by the Taliban&#8217;s Information and Culture Department in Badghis province, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the statement, the directive instructed media outlets to use images of inanimate objects, such as buildings or relevant landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Badghis is the third province, after Kandahar and Takhar, to officially prohibit live images, photographs, and video interviews, the statement said.
