A university professor and his family members put on white shrouds and came to the street today in Kabul to raise their voices in protest over the dire situation of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Mohammad Sabir Ensandost told Rukhshana Media that they are protesting the current political, social, economic, and cultural situation in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cInitially, we, a group of university professors, a group of women who lost their rights to work and students who are not allowed to go to school, planned to organize a protest in Kabul, but the Taliban did not allow us,\u201d said Ensandost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe requested permission for the protest, but the Taliban denied our request,\u201d he added, \u201cWe told the Taliban that we are protesting against Pakistan\u2019s interference in Afghanistan and the rise of unemployment, they rejected our request and demanded that we provide proof for our claims.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the Taliban rejected their request, they implicitly warned him that his life is more important than the problems he is protesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat is why we are wearing white shrouds to show that we have accepted death when coming to raise our voice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Taliban blocked their protest and two reporters who covered the protest were beaten and their equipment was broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Basir Ebadi and Anwar Hazara are the two journalists that were beaten by the Taliban today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
