Robina, 15, was diagnosed with the disease when she was six months old, her family said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Khaliqdad, Robina\u2019s father, said the family puts her in a cage during the day, and take her out during the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI wish my daughter would recover from this suffering,\u201d Robina\u2019s mother said. \u201cI request the Taliban and non-government organizations to help us treat our daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asiya, another 18-year-old girl, who suffered from the same disease was also kept in a cage by her family in Kandahar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Khaliqdad said Robina cannot speak and that she has a physical disability. Her right arm and leg are paralyzed. But she still can move. She breaks things and harms people around her if she is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said he took his daughter to the hospitals in Kandahar and Quetta, but the treatment has proven ineffective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amanullah Aziz, a mental and neurological diseases specialist, said keeping people with neurological diseases in cages and chaining them only worsen the patients\u2019 condition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A second teenage girl is kept in a cage due to a neurological disorder in Kandahar.
