A woman was found dead in Zinda Jaan district of Herat province on Tuesday, July 12, a local source said.
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the victim was strangled to death. But Etilaat Roz reported she was shot dead.
The victim was 35, and her body, found Tuesday afternoon in Dasht area of Zinda Jaan district, was transferred to the local hospital, according to the source.
Meanwhile, a man, identified as Asadullah, was shot dead in Zaranj city of Nimroz province Wednesday morning, a local Taliban official said.
Bahram Haqmal, the Taliban spokesman for Nimroz police, said four suspects, including two women and two men, were arrested in connection to the killing.
A photo shared with Rukhshana Media shows the victim has multiple bullet wounds in his leg. A local source said Asadullah had three wives, and his first and second wives were behind his murder.
Both Zaranj city and Zinda Jaan district are located in western part of the country.
