A man stabbed his wife to death and wounded his two children on Friday, May 20, in the northern city of Aibak in Samangan province, local officials said.
The victim was identified as Sediqa, 29, and the suspect’s name is Amir Mohammad who fled after committing the crime, said Firozuddin Farooqi, the Taliban’s investigator for Samangan’s police.
Efforts are underway to arrest the suspect, he added.
Two more women were killed, allegedly by their husbands, in separate incidents in southern Uruzgan province, according to Bakhtar, the Taliban’s state-owned news agency. One was killed in Tirinkot, the provincial capital, and the other incident happened in Dehrawood district.
Citing a Taliban provincial official Bakhtar reported the police were searching to arrest the suspects, both of whom have escaped.
The motive behind the killings wasn’t clear.
