A Taliban man has fatally shot a teenage girl and wounded her sister in Badghis province after his gun discharged allegedly by accident, according to the Badghis governor’s office.
In a press release, the Badgis governor said the man was sitting in a shop on Tuesday October 25 afternoon when he unintentionally triggered the gun he was carrying.
The shooting killed 18-year-old Khatima, daughter of Abdul Shakoor, and wounded her sister Shaima, 20.
Shaima has been transferred to the central Badghis hospital for treatment.
Ajmal Aatif, acting head of the provincial hospital in Badghis said Shaima is in a good condition.
Accidental discharge of a weapon can occur, especially when there is insufficient training in how to use it properly.
