The Taliban publicly whipped three people, including a woman on charges of running away from home and adultery in Faryab province on Sunday, the Taliban Supreme Court said in a statement.
The floggings took place in Pashtun Kot and Dawlatabad districts of the province.
Each of the individuals received 39 lashes and were sentenced to prison terms ranging from one to two years, according to the statement.
The Taliban has recently intensified its use of corporal punishment, including public executions.
Since regaining control of Afghanistan, they have publicly executed six people.
