Religious schools should be built to reform women’s thoughts and spread Islamic knowledge, the Taliban directorate of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Badakhshan province say on Tuesday, November 29.
Mohammad Akef Mohajer, the Taliban’s spokesperson for the Ministry of Vice and Virtue, says Mawlawi Sher Ahmad, head of Badkhkshana morality police has proposed the plan to Mawlawi Amanuddin Mansoor, the Taliban’s governor for the province.
According to reports, many religious schools are established and actively operating after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in mid-August last year.
Mohajer says that the Taliban morality police in the province have set up checkpoints in the province to promote virtue.
Previously female students were not allowed to enter Badakhshan university for not adhering to the clothing order.
Moreover, the Taliban have set up checkpoints in all over the country to prevent women from traveling with improper hijab and a male guardian.
