Kabul
A young woman has died after falling from the third floor of a building in the Qala Shada area of Kabul city. She leaves behind two sons aged five months and four years old.
A reliable source, who lives in the same area, said the 28-year-old woman named Khadija threw herself from the building to escape domestic violence.
However, the source added that her father’s family deny that she committed suicide, suggesting her husband Hadi threw her from the roof.
Rukhshana Media has been unable to speak to the woman’s father or her husband.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said the husband was an alcoholic.
“The couple did not get along before and Khadija was supposed to get separated from Hadi several times.”
The source claimed the Taliban arrested the husband following the family’s claim of murder but released him after one day.

Bamyan
An eighteen-year-old woman has hanged herself in the Waras district of Bamyan province.
Multiple sources told Rukhshana Media the girl killed herself in a barn at around 10 am on Saturday.
One source, who did not wish to be named, said she was a resident of the district’s Dahnn-e-Ghawchak called Shakila.
Another source said Shakila was a 12th-grade student who became depressed after the Taliban stopped her going to school.
“Shakila’s mother had gone to a wedding in another village and Shakila stayed at home with her sister Sakina,” the source added.
The source quoted Sakina as saying, “My sister looked at my father’s photo first thing in the morning and cried. I consoled myself because my father had died about four months ago. At 9:30, Shakila came out of the house and said that she was going to eat berries at Roqia’s house. Roqia is Shakila’s close friend. I said ‘go’ and I got busy with the housework. The shepherd called to take the sheep home. I went to open the stable gate, but no matter how hard I tried, it did not open. I called my brother Musa that the barn would not open. Both of us forcefully opened the gate of the stable when we saw Shakila hanging from the ceiling of the stable. Both of us freed Shakila from the rope and brought her down. We hoped she might be still alive, but unfortunately she had died.”
Sayed Ghafoor Hashimi, the district governor of Waras district, confirmed the incident and said a team has been dispatched to the area to investigate.
He said the team’s conclusion was that Shakila had killed herself out of grief for her father.
