Taliban congratulate International Women’s Day, saying their government will address the problems Afghan women face.
In a statement released by their foreign ministry, Taliban said they are committed to safeguard the rights of women, and provide them a dignified life within the frame of Islamic values.
The statement added that the long wars have affected Afghan women in the past four decades.
Amnesty International said the Taliban systematically discriminating against women and girls, severely restricting their rights since they took power in August.
The United Nations mission in Afghanistan said in a message on the occasion of International Women’s Day that Afghan women face severe gender inequality and discrimination.
