Afghan Journalist Safety Committee(AJSC) said in a statement the situation of female journalists in Afghanistan is worrying.
In most provinces of the country, women journalists are still not allowed to work and the presence of women in the media has been significantly reduced, the statement said.
There were 1,300 female media workers in the country last year. The number has dropped to less than 300 now.
AJSC called on the Taliban to cooperate ensuring women have access to their basic rights and allowing journalists to return to their media careers in provinces where they are not yet allowed to work.
Taliban have issued a code of conduct to restrict the freedom of the media in Afghanistan after they took power.
