One child was killed and two were wounded in an explosion caused by a RPG round on Thursday, April 5, in Greshk district of Helmand province, Bakhtar, the Taliban’s state-owned news agency reported.
The explosion happened around noon time Thursday.
The Taliban’s information and culture department in Helmand reported an unexploded ordinance went off when the children were playing on the ground.
According to UNICEF, 301 children were killed and wounded in explosions caused by unexploded ordinance left from the war in the first seven months of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
