A 9-year-old girl was killed by her fiancé on Friday, 20 May, in Shawali Kot district of southern Kandahar, local sources said.
One source, who did not want to be named, told Rukhshana Media that Marzia, who was beaten and tortured by her fiancé, succumbed to her injuries. The suspect was identified as Zainullah, whose family have a dispute with Marzia.
The victim’s body was transferred to the hospital yesterday. A source in the hospital said signs of torture were visible on her body.
A Taliban local official in Shawali Kot confirmed the incident without providing any further details
