Around 2000 Afghans have entered Poland since the beginning of the Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Tahir Qadiry, Afghanistan ambassador in Warsaw said.
In an open letter Qadiry posted on his Twitter account, he thanked the Polish government and people for their “unconditional assistance to the Afghan nationals escaping” Ukraine.
“They have been receiving the best treatment and hospitality,” he wrote about Afghan refugees who fled to Poland recently.
Thousands of Afghans lived in Ukraine when Russian invasion began last week.
