At least 30, mostly schoolboys, were killed in three explosions in Dashit-e-Barchi, a Hazara neighborhood in west Kabul, on Tuesday, April 19, local sources said.
Abdul Rahim Shahid, one of the largest schools in Kabul, and Mumtaz tuition center were the target of the attacks.
Jawid Huzhair, the Taliban’s public health ministry, confirmed the death of six and injury of 20 in today’s explosions. But eyewitnesses told Rukhshana Media that the actual death toll could be as high as 50.
A reporter for Rukhshana Media counted 12 dead bodies only in one of the several hospitals which received victims of the attacks.
No group has so far claimed responsibility of the attack. But Islamic State known as Daesh has carried out dozens of similar attacks, which have left thousands killed and wounded, in west Kabul since 2016.
