In what appears to be an honor killing, a man shot dead three members of a family on Thursday, June 16, in Maiwand district of Kandahar city, local sources said.
The victims of Thursday’s attack were the father, mother and a sister of a man, with whom the suspect’s daughter had eloped, one source said.
He had also killed his daughter around nine months ago after she eloped.
The suspect, who had fled to Pakistan after killing his daughter, returned to Kandahar recently. He entered the victims’ house and began shooting at them on Thursday. He again fled the area after committing the heinous crime.
A local Taliban source in Maiwand district of Kandahar province confirmed the incident without providing further details.
