A woman succumbed to her injuries as a result of domestic violence after being severely beaten last night, October 18, in Trinkut city, the capital of central Uruzgan province, a local source from the civil hospital in the province said.
According to the source, the woman died due to excessive blood loss.
The Taliban local officials claim that the perpetrator is her husband and he is arrested.
Hafiz Mubin, the Taliban’s spokesperson for Uruzgan’s police chief, told Rukhshana Media that the suspect is arrested and the investigation is underway.
Mubin added that the suspect has not confessed yet, but evidence has been obtained that shows that he is a murderer.
After the Taliban seized power in mid-August last year, violence against women has reached an unprecedented level.
