Mullah Yasin, the Taliban morality police director for Darah Sof district of northern Samangan province shot dead his niece after she ran away from her husband on Sunday, November 6, local sources say.
According to a source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the young woman had gone to her aunt’s house in Sholagara district of Balkh province after a dispute with her husband.
The source says Mullah Yasin was arrested by the Taliban forces in Sholgara district and was released after a day.
The source adds that Mullah Yasin pretended to return her to her husband’s house, but shot her dead.
“Mullah Yassin shot the young woman dead at her aunt’s house,” the source says.
Recently, mysterious murders of young women and girls have increased in some provinces of the country.
During the past week, at least three bodies of young women have been found in west Kabul.
There are rumors that allegedly the Taliban forces are behind the mysterious murders.
