The Taliban morality police whipped eight women who did not adhere to the clothing order and eight men for listening to music, shaving their beards, and having western haircuts in Taloqan of northern Takhar on Saturday, November 8, a local source says.
According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to security reasons, said that the Taliban forces whipped them 30 lashes each after evening prayers in public.
The source added the area was fully armed so the people don’t take photos or videos of the event.
The Taliban morality police of the province also lashed four people, including two women, for adultery on Friday, November 10 in the same mosque after Friday prayers.
The Taliban has not commented in connection to the incident yet.
The Taliban has taken a stricter approach in terms of dealing with women and girls recently.
In a recent case, the Taliban banned Afghan women and girls from public baths, gyms, parks, and funfairs.
