The body of a teenage girl was found on the rooftop of a house in Jebrail neighborhood of Herat city on Monday, June 20, local sources said.
A woman, who lives in the house, went to the rooftop to do household chores when she discovered the “body of the young woman inside a bloody bag,” one source said.
The victim’s mother has said her daughter went missing four days ago, according to the source. She was between 16 and 17-year-old.
The family, who lives in the house, were unaware who dumped the body onto their roof.
A second source said the girl had been severely beaten and her teeth had completely fallen out of her mouth.
The motive behind the murder is not yet clear, and local Taliban officials in Herat province have not provided any further details.
