A small group of women took part in an indoor protest in northern Afghanistan, calling on the Taliban to stop the execution of four teenage boys who were arrested by the Taliban in connection to the killing of eight vaccination workers last month in Takhar and Kunduz provinces.
“Taliban have detained four young men for killing vaccinators, forcing them to confess,” said Nawida, one of the protesters.
She said the Taliban have arrested one of the teenagers while he was working on his farm and then forced him to confess.
On February 24, eight health workers were killed in northern Kunduz and Takhar. Taliban detained four teenagers in connection to the killings.
According to some media outlets, the detainees are Abdul Sami, 16, Abdul Latif, 18, Abdul Qadir, 18, and the fourth person’s identity is still unknown.
The Taliban have yet to comment.
