A small group of female protesters held an indoor protest asking for the reopening of girls’ schools and an end to the Taliban’s misogynistic regulations.
“Open the gates of girls’ schools,” read a sign held by a protester.
They criticized the international community for its “shameful silence” regarding the situation of women in Afghanistan.
Speaking before the camera, one of the protesters said the Taliban were looking to find and detain them, and that half of their group members have fled the country, fearing for their safety.
These protesters said that the international community isn’t putting enough pressure on the Taliban to force them to change their repressive regulations and policies.
