A small number of women held an indoor protest in northern Kapisa province, calling for an end to the “ruthless,” Taliban offensive in Panjshir province.
Intense clashes are underway between the Taliban forces and the resistance fighters known as the National Resistance Front(NRF) in recent days, with each side claiming to have inflicted heavy casualties to the other.
Protesters accuse the Taliban of committing a “genocide” in Panjshir.
Videos went viral on social media showing seven NRF fighters were summarily executed by the Taliban after they were detained. They were all shot dead from behind while their hands were tied on their backs.
The videos were apparently recorded by the Taliban themselves.
“Let’s join the voice with Panjshir,” read a sign held by one of the protesters inside a room. “Stop genocide in Panjshir,” read another sign.
