A local Taliban health official said over 100, who were infected by cholera in Khas Uruzgan district, suffer from severe diarrhea.
Mohammadullah Rohani, the director of the Public Health Department in Uruzgan, said the outbreak started on August 6 in Ofran village, and those who fell ill were women, children and men.
Rohani added that emergency health teams were dispatched to the area to provide service to those affected.
There have been reports of cholera outbreak in different parts of Afghanistan, where people don’t have access to clean drinking water, in the past few months.
