Six people, including a woman, have been whipped in western Ghor province after being accused of crimes including adultery, producing, and drinking alcohol.
The Taliban Supreme Court said in a newsletter on Tuesday that they have flogged six people in Ferozkoh Stadium.
A local source in the province, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that the accused people received between 15 to 39 lashes each.
A few days ago, the Taliban forces publicly whipped 16 men for various crimes, including corruption and theft, in Gereshk district of Helmand province.
In December last year, the Taliban publicly executed a convicted murderer in western Farah province.
The public execution and floggings have sparked widespread domestic and international reactions; However, the Taliban called the remarks disrespectful to Muslims and their beliefs and interference in the country’s internal affairs.
