“During the institute’s graduation ceremony, especially during the Taliban governor’s speech, some participants clapped and occasionally whistled in joy and excitement. This behavior greatly displeased the governor, leading to the decision to seal the institute for an indefinite period,” the source said.
After the incident, some local elders intervened and requested the reopening of the institute. however, it has not been helpful, and the institute remains closed, according to the source.
Another local source, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said that a significant number of Taliban members studied at the institute.
“Both civilian and military Taliban members have studied at the institute,” the source said.
The Taliban officials in Bamyan have not commented on the incident.
