Female drug addicts would be rounded up and taken for treatment with a local hospital’s assistance in Kabul, the Taliban’s spokesperson for Kabul police says.
Khaliq Zadran, the Taliban’s spokesperson for Kabul police, said the treatment process is started with the help of 150-bed hospital in Kabul.
Women drug addicts mostly gather underneath bridge in district six of western Kabul.
The hospital’s authorities say that the treatment process will continue until the last female drug addicts in Kabul.
Although the exact statistic of women and girls addicted to drugs in Kabul and the provinces is unclear, but recently, allegedly many women and girls have turned to drugs due to family and social problems.
Psychiatrists believe divorce, family disputes, and spouses’ and relatives’ addiction to drugs are the main factors behind their addiction to drugs.
Previously, the Taliban collected female beggars, especially women, from Kabul city and registered them.
