A traffic accident killed eight people, including six men and two women, and wounded 41 other passengers on Saturday evening, November 19, in Khinjan district of northern Baghlan province, a local source tells Rukhshana Media.
According to the source, the incident happened around 11:00 PM last night when a 580-type passenger bus crashed due to technical issues on Kabul-Mazar-e-Sharif highway.
The Taliban police for Baghlan have confirmed the incident but have not provided further details about the passengers.
According to the Taliban, one child, two women, and 38 men are wounded in the incident.
Taliban says the reason behind the incident is the “carelessness of the driver and the broken brake” of the bus.
The wounded are transferred to Baghlan central hospital, according to the Taliban.
There is no information about the health status of the injured passengers.
Another traffic incident in Doshi district of Baghlan province left three men killed and seven others, including three women wounded on Saturday, November 19.
Damaged roads, carelessness of drivers, and their lack of proper familiarity with the principles of driving are considered to be the main factors of accidents.
