Zahra Joya fled Kabul after the Taliban’s takeover of her country. She was airlifted to the United Kingdom.
Ms. Joya founded Rukshana Media to focus on Afghan women’s stories, Time wrote.
She now lives in London from where she leads Rukhshana Media as chief editor. She starts her day with editing stories her colleagues send her from Afghanistan every day.
“Zahra Joya fled the Taliban,” Time wrote. “She is still telling the stories of Afghan women.”
Though Ms. Joya her done her undergraduate studies in Law, her passion led her to journalism.
She told the Time she fights for women’s rights at a time when “Afghan women have lost their rights, their freedoms and their hope.”
