The National Examination Authority (NEXA) said in a notice on Monday that female applicants who don’t observe hijab will not be allowed to register for the professional positions’ exam of the Ministry of Public Health.
The registration and biometrics will happen at Ghazanfar Institute in Kabul and last for three days starting Monday, January 1, according to NEXA.
“All the female applicants who want to register for the professional positions of the Ministry of Public Health are requested to observe the Islamic hijab at the time of registration,” the notice reads.
NEXA added that if female applicants do not observe the Islamic hijab, they will be disqualified from registration and biometrics.
The Taliban has imposed extensive restrictions on the work, education, and personal and social freedoms of women and girls since regaining control of the country.
On Monday the Taliban Vice and Virtue police beat and arrested several girls and women for “improper hijab” in different parts of Kabul city.
