Local sources said that a man shot dead six members of his own family and a neighbor by a hunting gun in Pojawa village of Dara district in Panjshir province.
Nasrullah, the Taliban’s director of Information and Culture department in Panjshir, said the incident happened on Thursday, August 11.
He said Abdullah, the suspect, was detained and an investigation was underway to find out the motive behind the killings.
The victims included the suspect’s wife, three daughters, two sons, and a neighbor who was a teacher.
Villagers said Abdullah suffered from mental illness due to poverty and unemployment in recent months.
