The Taliban has turned a women-run almond processing factory into a military base in Nili, the capital of Daikundi province, according to an employee of the factory.
“The Taliban has taken the factory by force and they are using it as a military base,” the employee who wants to remain anonymous due to security threats told Rukhshana Media.
The almond processing factory which was established six years ago by Oxfam was a women-run factory where around 10 women were employed before it was closed when the Taliban took over Daikundi.
Also, there are reports about the forced displacement of the Hazara people from Daikund province.
Mohammad Mohaqiq, leader of the People’s Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan wrote on his Facebook that the Taliban warned 800 families in Daikundi province to leave their areas.
He accused the Taliban of confiscating the Hazara people’s land to give it to their supporters.
