The Taliban have flogged 11 individuals in Nimroz, Paktika, and Bamyan provinces on various charges, according to a newsletter from the Taliban Supreme Court issued on Tuesday.
Eight individuals were whipped 15 to 30 times for theft and sentenced to imprisonment. However, the newsletter did not specify the duration of their imprisonment.
The flogging was attended by judicial officers, administrative and service employees, and citizens of the provinces.
In another newsletter, the Taliban Supreme Court reported that two individuals in Barmal district of Paktika province were flogged 30 times for theft and sentenced to one year in prison.
Additionally, one individual in Shibar district of Bamyan was lashed 39 times for drinking and carrying alcoholic beverages and sentenced to two years in prison.
The Supreme Court of the Taliban did not provide details about the identities or genders of the individuals punished.
In March, the Taliban publicly flogged and imprisoned at least 44 people, including several women, in various provinces, including Kabul, Ghazni, Logar, Kapisa, Zabul, Balkh, Khost, Faryab, and Ghor.
The primary charges against these individuals included theft, adultery, fornication, and fraud.
