A woman was shot dead and another wounded when the Taliban gunmen opened fire on a Riksha in Kandahar on Saturday afternoon, local sources said.
Two local sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Rukhshana media that three women were in the Riskha when it came under attack in Kandahar city’s Chaharsoo neighborhood.
The Riksha came under fire when the driver ignored the Taliban’s instruction to stop.
Asif Hakimi, the Taliban’s spokesman for Kandahar police, confirmed the shooting, saying one woman was killed and two others were wounded in the incident. He said the Riksha driver was detained. “Investigations is underway on this case,” he said.
