A female high school student committed suicide by hanging herself in Waras district of Bamyan province, a local Taliban source said.
Sayed Ghafoor Hashemi, the Taliban district governor for Waras district, said the incident took place on Friday, April 1st, in Ural-e-Sarkhjoy area of Waras district.
The victim was identified as Zahra. She was 18-year-old.
He said the girl lived with her father in the Waras district, while her mother was staying in Kabul. She hanged herself in a room when her father was working on the family farm.
Zahra was a high school student and it was unclear why she killed herself.
Rukhshana Media couldn’t reach the family members for comment.
Hashemi said a delegation had been sent to the area to investigate the incident.
