The Taliban have publicly whipped two individuals, including a woman in Istalif district of Kabul on charges of adultery on Wednesday, the Taliban Supreme Court said in a statement.
The woman was lashed 32 times while the man received 39 lashes.
Despite wide criticism by the UN and international human rights organizations, the group has publicly whipped hundreds of people across the country since they seized power in August 2021.
The United Nations reported in its quarterly update that the Taliban have publicly whipped 179 people between April 1 and June 30.
