Taliban kept millions of schoolgirls out of school

The Taliban government did not allow girls above the sixth grade to return to school, breaking a promise they had made.

Ministry of Education notice said that schools for girls would remain closed until further notice.

“Female students above grade six are off until the next order,” said the notice.

Today was supposed to be the first day of school to millions of 7-12th grade schoolgirls after seven months.
