The Taliban’s police say they detained three young women for eloping their homes in Herat city on Monday, August 22.
The arrests were made in the city’s eighth district in an “intelligence raid,” according to the statement released by the Taliban’s police in Herat.
The cases of all three women have been referred to the judiciary, so they face trial. The Taliban haven’t provided further details about the identity of the women.
The Taliban have detained several women and men for adultery in Herat since they took control of the city over a year ago. No information was made public about their case
