October 16, 2023
Over the past five days, seven women have been murdered or killed themselves in Afghanistan

Two women have been killed allegedly by their husbands in separate incidents in Kapisa province, while a third married woman has allegedly taken her own life after a domestic dispute in northern Faryab province.

A reliable source in Kapisa province, who wished to remain anonymous for security reasons, said a 17-year-old named Mosak was allegedly shot dead by her husband in Chishma area of Hese-Awal area of Kohistan district on Sunday.

A day earlier, a 40-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband, named Qand Agha, in the Ghafarkhel area of Kohistan, the source added.

Local Taliban authorities in Kapisa have not commented on either case.

Meanwhile in Faryab, an 18-year-old woman has died after allegedly consuming acid in a suspected suicide, according to the provincial Taliban police.
